Comprehensive Services

more than consulting alone

At r+k Consulting Engineers, we offer comprehensive Pipeline Integrity Assessments aimed at ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of both new and existing pipeline systems. Our work goes far beyond standard checks—we combine advanced computational analysis, field data interpretation, and decades of practical experience to deliver deep insight into the current and future state of your pipeline infrastructure.

We evaluate pipelines for strength, stability, and deformation under a wide range of conditions, including soil interaction, internal pressure, external loading, and environmental impacts. Our in-house developed software Ple4Win, approved by Dutch authorities and international clients such as Shell, enables us to accurately model complex pipe-soil interaction in both soft and stiff soils—crucial for systems located in delta regions or offshore.

What makes r+k unique is our independent position, combined with the breadth of expertise within the BT Engineering Group. This allows us to enrich our assessments with interdisciplinary knowledge - for example, in materials science, structural failure mechanisms, or geotechnical behavior. As a result, we can identify not only whether a pipeline is at risk, but also why, how, and what to do next—whether that’s repair, mitigation, or redesign.

Clients engage us at different stages:

  • During design, to validate long-term integrity under expected loads
  • For periodic assessments, supporting asset management and regulatory compliance
  • After incidents, to investigate failure causes and assess residual life
  • In lifetime extension studies, to evaluate future operability under changing conditions

Through our analytical depth and broad system understanding, we help clients make informed, confident decisions - ensuring safety, avoiding unnecessary interventions, and reducing lifecycle costs.
